Counter-Reparations

Some
GOP clown calls for reparations
of his own. He repeats the stupid lie
about why all those Yankees had to die.
“To free the slaves!” he says. Such obfuscations
can’t hide the fact that Lincoln’s calculations
were otherwise. Such fictions cannot fly.
Why do these propagandists even try?
Can’t they anticipate the complications?
The war was fought to crush the independence
of any state that dared to raise its head
and not just join Leviathan’s attendants.
The Yankee plan: to rule the South through dread
and subjugate fierce liberty’s descendants.
The cause of freedom afterward was dead.

Union soldiers received big bounties to enlist, more than a working man's annual pay. And they received lavish pensions for decades after the war. The Yankee war expenses, were more for bounties than ammunition, the only example in history, and the pensions were the biggest item in the federal budget for years after. What else can you expect from a Republican except arrogant ignorance.

Amen to that, Dr Wilson. The list of arrogantly ignorant Republicans is a very long one, including Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker, who once stated that our old Mississippi flag 'belongs in a museum.' Wicker belongs at home. I just wish taxpayers didn't have to pay him for the rest of his pathetic life.

A clean, pointed poem. Look out, Walt!

Now I've heard of Burning Morono. I suppose this foreign would-be ruler is as fine an example as the GOP can muster. Maybe he'll "come out" while kissing the wall or something. Dr. W., what else? Calculated pandering, malice, and wickedness, expected or otherwise, are always delivered.
