A Letter to Readers

To Our Valued Reckonin’ Contributors and Readers,

My brilliant daughter Anne created the Reckonin' site as a place for Southern opinions. Reckoning means calling to account the many enemies of our Southern people for their lies and malice.

We have posted a lot of good stuff and gathered a few dozen writers. Other responsibilities have at times kept us from giving as much attention to the website as we would like, but we intend to keep at it at a better pace.

Notice our two great new writers, Perrin Lovett and Robert Peters. And remember our faithful, principled and talented regulars like Gail Jarvis, Mark Atkins, Walt Garlington, Bo Traywick, and Carolina Contrarian. Not to mention Yours Truly, who intends to contribute more in the future. For some inexplicable reason, people seem to like my scribblings.

Cordially, Clyde Wilson

Dr Wilson, I just read that West Point is officially removing and renaming anything and everything ever associated with the Confederacy, by recommendation of the 'Congressional Naming Commission.' Although this action does greatly disrespect General Lee and other brave Confederates, and although General Lee was an alumnus of the institution, I am somewhat glad that his portrait and name will no longer be associated with the Yankee Empire's U.S. Military Academy. I'm sure General Lee would never have thought that the so-called Department of Defense would join in the celebration of sodomy each year during 'Gay Pride Month,' where their pathetic soldiers-in-training march around the school grounds carrying their silly 'rainbow flags.' Instead of placing the portrait and bust of General Lee IN STORAGE, why couldn't they let a group which loves and admires General Lee take possession of these two items? They wouldn't do that because their desire is to completely destroy any memory of the Confederacy, and those who fought and died defending their homes and the Confederate States of America. Good luck with that goal, filthy Yankees and self-hating Southerners.

Mr. Powell. Lee was not only an alumnus of West Point he was its best superintendent. I am tending to agree with you. Maybe it is best that our cherished symbols are removed from places of this degenerate and evil empire.

I agree with you, Dr. Wilson. Before I cancelled my subscription to the Richmond Times-Fishwrap, summer-before-last, I wrote and said to go ahead and remove the Confederate monuments, then. Richmond is no longer worthy of them. Same with "Stonewall" Jackson at VMI - which can expect not one penny from me again. As for the "Reconciliation Monument" at Arlington, let "those people" take it down and go to hell. As "The Outlaw Josey Wales" said, there ain't no fergittin'.

Many thanks for the end of year message Clyde, the Reckonin' site is a breath of fresh air in a world of wasted words and paragraphs. Anne's hard work here is deeply appreciated, and I always enjoy the content from your talented corps of writers. Am looking forward to reading more in 2023!
