Some More of the Bad Way We Are Now

“A war against a foreign country only happens when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it.” --Orwell

Our U.S. armed forces, which claim to be the best in the world, abandoned $86 billion worth of arms in Afghanistan after their failed war. $86 billion.

Under Joseph Biden more illegal aliens have entered the U.S. than the population of 35 States.

Only a slight number of Republicans in public office are trying to do something about this.

Jimmy Carter was our last Christian President
. He had many serious defects, but as President he did not repeal the Glass-Stegall Act, bailout criminal bankers, start illegal and counter-productive wars, or tear down any Confederate monuments.

How much longer do I have to wait for my “peace dividend”?

The once celebrated "American Dream” is now only a dream
. Was it ever anything else?

I recently saw a catalog of books published by the U.S. Communist Party in 1944
. Every one of their positions on the War between the States and Reconstruction is now mainstream.

The ongoing genocide in Gaza tells you everything about the moral character of the American elite.

Voters
don’t win elections; donors do.

By comparison to what followed him, Jimmah is starting to look legendary. Also, as things really start to fly apart, we're going into save and grow your own mode. Luckily, David the Good just released a new book about the growing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/195528914X.

Regarding the ongoing slaughter in Gaza, Netanyahu = Lincoln/Sherman/Sheridan reincarnated.

As governor as far as I note, even Clinton did not dishonour Confederate symbols..Of course the first was George Bush in Texas, a Republican--blood enemies of everything Southern.

Let me strike the point. Dr. Wilson is the greatest Jefferson scholar to ever live (let's also throw in Calhoun and Pettigrew). I'm just finishing up his new book on Jefferson. I consider myself a smart man (when around a Yankee). Dr. Wilson will never include himself as a premier Jefferson scholar. How humble of him. I would expect nothing less.

As a side note, Dr. Wilson has helped me understand Jefferson's trust in the common citizen at the time. I truly understand it now. I had to first erase the 'common American' in 2024 from my mind. Now it is easy to see how and why Jefferson saw the independent farmer of his time as the best defender of republicanism.

Question: why doesn't a Jefferson descendant sue the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (or whoever owns Monticello is called) for defamation? They've never used Thomas Jefferson's own DNA. Or a letter/court order of cease and desist?

REGARDING JIMMY CARTER

In hindsight, Carter appears to have done more to nurture republicanism than hurt it during his brief tenure. I could be wrong, but maybe history will be kinder to President Carter by Jeffersonians like ourselves.

But before I give him to much credit, had he been in better health, would he have turned into this Leftist Fascist that now dominates his Party? I don't know. Tulsi Gabbard appears to have been the lone exception. Thoughts?

Aside from some fast-written typos, the term "Leftist Fascist" might appear redundant to some people. I agree with them. Is there is a Fascist that's not a Leftist? Are there any national Leftists who are not Fascists? And isn't Fascism inherently a Leftist ideology? I agree with all. But to your average voter, they've been taught from a young age that you only see "Fascists" on the American Right or European Right. That assumption was NEVER the case in America or in Europe. So, yes, my usage of the words is redundant. But I want NO confusion. Good day.

It’s quite a shame to say the least that Washington DC is all but bankrupted and is aiding an invasion of the people of Texas. George W married a Southern gal, who attended Robert E Lee High School in Midland, TX. I would label Laura Bush a Southern belle, but she has been around the Yankees for much of her life. My opinion of Rosalynn Carter is that she was most definitely a Southern Belle and a Steel Magnolia. It’s a joyful pleasure to the ears when you watch old interviews with Mrs. Carter and Jimmy’s sister, Ruth Stapleton, and hear their sweet southern voice. I can only imagine that our brave southern women like Sarah Morgan Dawson, Mary Boykin Chestnut, and Emma Balfour spoke as sweetly and eloquently as Rosalynn Carter. I’ll end on this note that the Reagan and Carter families were the last decent ones to live in the Executive Mansion.

Reagans decent? Divorced, not clearly Chrtistian, Ronnie with a Playmate daughter, a toe-dancing son, and a wife into superstition. I beg to differ,.

Indeed Dr. Wilson, I stand corrected on Ronnie.
